Executive Director

Having a child in her late 30’s was the driving force to adopt a whole-food, plate-based lifestyle for Valerie. She wanted her daughter to have an active, healthy mom. In 2018, she made the switch and has never felt better. She finds it to be a great honor to use her skills and talents to help propel the mission of Healthy City forward.

Valerie began her nonprofit career 20 years ago working for the Boy Scout of America in Missouri. After 12 years with the organization, Valerie left to lead Bush Tennis Center as their executive director. Valerie has served as executive director for the Midland County Public Library Foundation and as head of advancement for Holy Cross Catholic High School.

Valerie finds inspiration in those that founded Healthy City and those that practice the pillars of healthy living. And, she finds inspiration for new meals from the many WFPB “influencers” she follows on social media.
