BSN, RN, CCM, ACM, DipACLM
I have been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years and a Certified and Accredited Case Manager. I have been vegetarian since 1995 and plant-based since 2016. I am certified through T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies in Plant-Based Nutrition and a Diplomat for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. In 2018 my life changed with the diagnosis of metastatic rectal cancer. I am currently cancer free and thriving with my plant-strong diet. I use this experience to educate and encourage others facing a cancer diagnosis.
I am involved in the PlantPure Community outreach program by managing a Pod in the Fort Worth area. I also serve on the Pod advisory committee (PAC) this year. I teach community cooking classes for small groups and am a speaker choosing to tell my story and share my healthy ideas.
I work in a Heart and Vascular Hospital as a Case Manager. I believe together, one person at a time, we can make a difference!
I started my nursing career 30 years ago. I graduated nursing school from Riverside College, Riverside, CA, and have held several roles in the hospital setting. Recently retired from Kaiser Permanente, I am a Certified Case Manager (CCM), and Accredited Case Manager (ACM), certified as a Diplomate for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (DipACLM), and have also completed certification for Plant-Based Nutrition through eCornell T.Colon Campbell's Nutrition program.
I am currently focusing on educating on holistic medicine's benefits and giving talks on Colorectal cancer survival.
